Biography
Ann Marie Morgan has been teaching since 1983, both at the Center for Musical Arts as well as at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, CU-Boulder, Regis University, and the Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute. She is a leading performer of the viola da gamba in the United States and a frequent soloist with orchestras, is a member of the Oberlin Consort of Viols, Apollo’s Fire, and is a founding member of Les Cordes du Roy. Anne Marie has recorded on the Dorian, Onda, and PGM labels and has been heard on NPR’s Performance Today broadcasts and on Minnesota Public Radio.
Some highlights from her now 30-year career include collaborations with tenor Nicholas Phan including 2017 in Chautauqua and Cleveland, 2016 in Istanbul, and 2015 at Carnegie Hall (featured as an Editor’s Choice in the Abril 2015 issue of Gramophone magazine, in which lutenist Micheal Leopold and she were cited for their instrumental arrangements being “intelligent and exquisitely played”).
