DESCRIPTION:The Cerus Saxophone Quartet brings the dynamic and versatile sound of the saxophone quartet to the concert stage. Winner of the 2025 Concert Artist Guild Louis and Susan Meisel Competition and the Gold Medal in the 2025 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition\, Cerus is gaining recognition for innovative programming that pairs contemporary works with transcriptions of classical masterworks. Their performances combine musical virtuosity with engaging visual elements\, showcasing the saxophone quartet as a powerful voice in 21st-century classical music. \n$20.00 adults; $5.00 students (plus fees) \nAbout Cerus Saxophone Quartet \nBased in Ann Arbor\, Michigan\, the Cerus Saxophone Quartet is composed of Roberto Campa\, soprano saxophone; Laura Ramsay\, alto saxophone; Kyle Kato\, tenor saxophone; and Samuel Dishon\, baritone saxophone. The quartet has premiered works by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon\, Karalyn Schubring\, Ryan Lindveit\, and Wenbin Lyu. \nIn addition to winning the 2025 Concert Artist Guild Louis and Susan Meisel Competition\, Cerus has earned First Prize in the 2025 Yellow Springs Chamber Music Competition\, First Prize in the 2024 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition\, and First Prize with the Michigan Prize in the 2023 Briggs Chamber Music Competition. The ensemble has performed across more than 10 U.S. states and at venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall Citywide and the Newport Classical Festival.
