The Center for Musical Arts is here for you. We want to welcome you back to the building to make music safely, and we have come up with the following strategies to operate within the State of Colorado and City of Lafayette Covid-19 guidelines for as long as they remain in effect. Other information has come from the sources/studies listed below.
Of course, nothing is for certain. We may open the doors one day and have to close again the next, depending on the trajectory of the virus. Our commitment is to health and safety, and we will not jeopardize the health of teachers or students in the building.
The Center for Musical Arts has been in consultation with the Boulder County Health Department, and they have advised us to set the following guidelines and protocols for in-person music activities:
- The Winter/Spring 2021 term begins on January 4 and runs through May 29.
- Following school district and Boulder County Health Department guidelines, we are suspending all in-person instruction from Monday, November 16, 2020 onward (or until recommendations change).
- If families or neighborhoods have created Learning Pods, we are able to provide standards-based instructional support. Contact Nancy Brace (nancy@comusic.org) to inquire and to make arrangements.
- In-person recitals and other performances are suspended until guidelines for gatherings are lifted. Virtual studio classes and recitals are encouraged!
Our plans are continuing to develop with student and faculty safety in mind. You can email Kathy Kucsan, Education Director, at kathyk@comusic.org if you have questions or concerns.
