Biografía

Connor Johnson is a trumpet player and composer with a wide range of musical interests and experience, including wind ensemble, orchestra, brass quintet and other chamber music, British brass band, and experimental electronic music. He has received awards in national and international competitions for his solo performances and compositions and is passionate about writing, commissioning, and performing new works with a focus on flexible modes of performance so they are enjoyable for players of varying abilities. Connor enjoys teaching students of all levels, connecting traditional trumpet, composition, or theory pedagogy with the individual musical interests of his students.

Connor holds degrees in trumpet performance (BM) and music composition (MM) from Michigan State University and is currently pursuing his DMA in brass performance and pedagogy at CU Boulder studying with Dr. Ryan Gardner.
