Biography

Rex Spease studied music at The United States Navy School of Music and at the University of Kansas. He has been playing professionally in the Denver area since 1980. Rex enjoys playing a variety of styles, including classical, jazz, country, swing, ethnic music, and others. He has been a member of the Denver Musicians’ Union for over 30 years and has played with various groups during that time. Rex, and the numerous musical associates with whom he has been affiliated, have performed for weddings, anniversaries, and countless other occasions.

Rex is excited and proud to be a member of various ensembles including Olde Town Swing Band, Crystal Swing Band, and Karen Osburn Band, and he leads his own group, Calculated Risq. Rex has been teaching both old and young in Colorado for more than 38 years and is happy to join the Center for Musical Arts!
