With your support, we’re making an impact through music!

Our organization delivers vital programs to our community through both the Center for Musical Arts and its performance arm the Colorado Music Festival, a summer music festival at Boulder’s historic Chautauqua Auditorium. 2022-23 program highlights reflect our commitment to championing a fully equitable and inclusive environment while using music to improve lives in the most authentic and meaningful ways.

The Center for Musical Arts focuses on providing access to the community to the social and developmental benefits of music education for everyone, regardless of their age, race, sexual orientation, financial circumstance, or abilities.

You can also support the Center through planned giving. LEARN MORE >

How your support is making an impact in our community:

Facilitating the important mentoring relationship between teacher and student

Our student-centered philosophy engages teaching artists who are committed to building strong, supportive relationships with each of their students. Your financial support ensures we can attract and retain a talented faculty.

Providing tuition assistance and instruments to students in need

In keeping with our philosophy of offering music instruction to every student regardless of financial circumstance, we offer need-based tuition assistance and access to low or no-cost musical instrument rental.

Creating opportunities for experiencing the joy of music

We offer programs so that all members of our community can experience the joy of music-making. Programs such as LifeSong Chorus, which provides connection, purpose, and joy for individuals with early-onset Alzheimer’s and their caregivers, would not exist without your support.

The Center for Musical Arts provided lessons, classes, and ensembles to approximately 500 students per week.

35% of our students receive need-based tuition assistance and over 150 instruments have been distributed through our Instrument Bank.

Tiny Stage “Louise” has been on the road, providing free musical performances to 10,000 members of our community! Notable activities include Lafayette Arts Night Out, and the Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives including [placeholder] festival, and Community Art Day. Performers include the Center’s talented faculty members including guitarist Rick Pruitt, the CMA Jazz Combo led by Steve Christopher, and guests from CU’s Musical Theatre program led by Tamara Meneghini.

The Center for Musical Arts  partnered with Youth Spaces Lafayette to provide a summer program for 24 recently-arrived Latinx students, providing two weekly lessons, 12 guitars, and class and rehearsal space. Students played a final concert at Confluence Lafayette.

The 4th annual Suzuki Play-In before the Festival Family Concert included over 60 participants from Boulder Suzuki Strings, Greater Boulder Youth Orchestra, Cellists for Change, and members of the Festival Orchestra.

The Center continues to deliver critical music programming to Alicia Sanchez Elementary School’s Dragon After-School Program.

Monthly Giving

When you sign up for monthly giving, you provide our organization with valuable resources and financial stability. A monthly, recurring gift of any amount — one that is meaningful to you — will enable us to share the power of music. You can sign up for your monthly donation by visiting our online donation portal and selecting “Show my support by making this a monthly gift.”

Donor Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) allows individuals to make charitable contributions and receive an immediate tax deduction. The funds are managed by a DAF custodian, and the donor can recommend grants to their preferred nonprofit organizations. Donors can contribute to the fund over time and recommend grants to charities at their discretion, providing flexibility in their giving strategy. Learn more about DAFs and other tax-smart gifts >

Planned Giving

Planned gifts (most commonly a donation made in your will or trust) cost nothing today and allow you to make an incredible impact, which is why so many people choose to make them. There are some other exciting but less common gifts — learn more about planned giving >
