Sarah Barber, Mezzo Soprano

Ms. Barber, a former Center for Musical Arts faculty member, has performed with many notable companies such as Central City Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, West Bay Opera, Opera Theatre of the Rockies, Opera Ft. Collins, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the Colorado Music Festival, the Black Hills Symphony, the Boulder Symphony, and the Arapahoe Philharmonic.

 

Raouf Zaidan, Baritone

Raouf Zaidan, a former Center faculty member, is an Egyptian American baritone and educator. Born and educated in Egypt, he deepened and widened his musical training and experience in the UK and the USA. Zaidan’s career has reflected a deep interest and continuing practice of his diverse cultural background.

The main focus of his career has been the area between his Egyptian cultural roots and international opera and music theater. His love for languages and cultural connection and diversity has given him a special vantage point as specialist and leader in this field.

He has performed a wide range of opera and musical theater and now focuses on training and coaching singers.

 

Deborah Schmit-Lobis, Piano

Deborah, a Center faculty member, has performed with just about every major classical organization in the Denver area and she loves (and plays) just about every style of music. Deborah has toured nationally and internationally with artists such as Andrea Bocelli, played the accordion with Luciano Pavarotti in his last Denver concert, and has performed with James Galway, Eileen Ivers and the Paul Winter Consort in conjunction with the Colorado Symphony.

As a composer and arranger, she has worked with dance and theater companies such as Colorado Ballet, David Taylor Dance Theater and Speaking of Dance, and the chamber music ensemble Suonare. She is the principal pianist with the Central City Opera Ensemble and has traveled all over the world with the Colorado Children’s Chorale.

 

 

Steven Taylor, Baritone

Currently serving as the Dean of the School of Music at Colorado Christian University, baritone Steven Taylor is known to audiences throughout the Rocky Mountain region both for his beautiful, expressive singing, and his dramatic interpretations.

Steven is a graduate of the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver.  He has been a guest artist/faculty member at the Vocal Arts Symposium of Colorado College, and a former member of the voice faculty at the University of Northern Colorado. Steven’s singing credits include the world premiere of David Shire’s A Stream of Voices with the Colorado Children’s Chorale, Three Songs for America with composer David Amram, performed as part of the DNC “Outside the Convention” program, and a featured soloist for the 2009 National Veteran’s Day concert.

 

Sandra Wong, Violin

Sandra has toured nationally and internationally as a solo artist and in collaboration with various musicians. She has appeared at numerous festivals and concert series. Her current projects include “Kaleidoscope” with Ty Burhoe and Bill Douglas; “Marrakech Express” with El Yesefi Samir, Brett Bowen and Dexter Payne, “From The Fjords to the Andes” with Victor Mestas, Gonzalo Teppa and Jill Fredrickesen; “Teresa Storch and the Sharp Eleven”, “The Sandra Wong, Dominick Leslie, Ty Burhoe Trio” as well as work as a solo artist and freelance musician collaborating with musicians in all musical genres.

Together Again is a fundraiser in support of musical instruction and performance for people of all ages, abilities, cultural backgrounds and financial circumstances. All donations at Crescendo qualify for the State of Colorado Childcare Contribution Credit.
