The Koa String Quartet, Graduate Quartet-in-Residence at CU Boulder and 2024 Ekstrand Competition winners, brings heartfelt expression and vibrant precision to the classical stage. Hailing from Hawaiʻi, Michigan, and New York, these four musicians unite their diverse backgrounds in thrilling chamber music.
The Borealis Trio emerged from the vibrant chamber music program at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, where a shared passion for collaboration and musical exploration brought together three distinctive voices from around the world. Comprised of İdil Olgar (violin), Dylan Tyree (cello), and Danbi Heo (piano), the ensemble brings a raw, eclectic approach to a literature of music that spans centuries and encompasses a diverse array of genres.
