Ka Baird and M. Sage
Ka Baird presents “A thousand miles of hungry static,” a performance piece that explores the spectral forces of reality through various sonic encounters and physical movement.
The piece features extended voice and microphone techniques, live-processed flutes, samples, feedback, fractured rhythms, and interfaces that both trigger and manipulate sound. The performance embodies Ka’s signature tone that is simultaneously confrontational, mysterious, visceral, and humorous.
M. Sage releases music on RVNG, and has a catalog scattered across genres and independent label catalogs far and wide. He is also a member of the celebrated ambient jazz quartet Fuubutsushi. He was a professor of media studies and digital arts for a decade. He has shown intermedia artworks, sound, and music at the Whitney Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Geffen Contemporary. He lives in rural Colorado where he helps take care of a few acres of the Front Range.
