🎹 (12:30pm-2:00pm) Jazz Class Demo

Come observe how Adults who haven’t played much Jazz in their lives, have come to learn about the elements of Jazz and even Improvisation. We’ve had enormous fun in this class!
They’ll play through Melodies, Chords, Bass lines and then Improvise over that. We’ll demonstrate in ‘their words’ how learning one aspect of music, builds into the next and into the next. They’ve learned to not only understand Chords/Melody, but the basis of Rhythm and Bass lines. Possibly more important, is they’ve learned how to use their ‘ears’ in new ways which enables them to Improvise and Get Off the Page. Many of these folks, had never played anything by ear in their lives. They can now play in different keys, in different styles and rhythms all by ear. Come share in the fun and excitement of ADULT learning as we share our JOURNEY of music with you!

🎹 (2:15pm-3:45pm) Composing for Visual Media (ages 12-16)

PREREQUISITE-Must have studied piano for 2 years or consult with Instructor.
CLASS SIZE LIMIT-6 Reserve your spot here
Have you ever wondered how music is created/composed? Have you noticed that all Video Games, Movies and Cartoons are accompanied by music? More than that, music enhances and makes things feel more real, more vivid. Music intensifies the emotion or action we’re watching. You may wonder how they do that. Are there hidden techniques that only video game or movie writers know? Maybe a few, but we will explore techniques that are the basis of all composition and will enrich our own musical palette. Whether you’ve composed or not, this is the class to get you going if you are interested in getting outside the box! We’ll work with Visual aids and having an I-pad or computer is good, but not required.

🎹 (2:30pm-3:45pm) The Piano, Inside Out!

CLASS SIZE LIMIT-15 Reserve your spot here
Students will learn about the art of music composition and the science of sound while exploring the inner workings of a grand piano. Each student will go home with their own original graphic music score and a whole new perspective on piano music. This is a hands-on workshop for any experience level. Suggested for ages 6-10
