Biography

Sarah Hight is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, educator, and performer whose love for music has guided her life since early childhood. Her primary instruments are violin and trumpet, with equal experience playing guitar and singing. Growing up in Rapid City, South Dakota, she honed her musicianship in a thriving music program. Sarah was a student apprentice with the Black Hills Symphony Orchestra for four seasons and earned top placements in All-State ensembles on both violin and trumpet, finishing her high school career as the top trumpet player in the state.

She pursued music performance at the University of Northern Colorado, where she performed with internationally recognized ensembles, competed in multiple national competitions, and studied with world-class musicians. Graduating during the height of the pandemic led Sarah to discover a calling in teaching and mentorship. She has since grown an orchestra program to 150+ students, guest-taught across multiple fine arts disciplines, and recently helped establish a band and orchestra program at a rural secondary school near Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
