This week-long intensive for serious youth musicians (strings, woodwinds, and pianists) provides a unique opportunity to spend a week immersed in chamber music.

Our 2022 Chamber Music Intensive is designed for serious high school musicians (strings, woodwinds, piano) and provides a unique opportunity to spend a week immersed in chamber music. Participants will have a rare chance to interact with Colorado Music Festival guest musicians Randall Goosby (violin) and Ryan Bancroft (conductor) and attend a Festival Orchestra rehearsal. Each daily session will include coaching by Center faculty and other professional players, as well as chamber rehearsals (ensemble and orchestra) and a daily class on special topics such as performance practice, wellness for musicians, or score study.

Here’s what you can look forward to every day:

  • Small ensemble and string chamber orchestra rehearsals
  • Coaching and instruction from Center faculty and Colorado Music Festival musicians
  • Wellness for Musicians to help you play mindfully, avoid injury, and more

About Guest Artist Randall Goosby

“[Randall] Goosby plays like an angel with nothing to prove,” claims the L.A. Times. The youngest recipient ever to win the Sphinx Concerto Competition and an artist dedicated to the dynamic music of Black composers, violinist Randall Goosby joins the Festival. June 2021 marked the release of Goosby’s debut album for Decca entitled Roots, a celebration of African-American music which explores its evolution from the spiritual through to present-day compositions. Collaborating with pianist Zhu Wang, Goosby has curated an album paying homage to the pioneering artists that paved the way for him and other artists of color.
