IMG_3694aThanks to everyone who came to Performathon on Saturday, March 7. We enjoyed great student performances as well as carnival games, the Instrument Petting Zoo, and homemade cookies. It was truly a community event and would not have been possible without the support from local sponsors Jasper Animal Hospital, Kohl’s, and State Farm the Anne M. Larson Agency and donations from Broomfield Council on the Arts and Humanities, Coal Creek Brokers, Estes Park Brewery, Lafayette Recreation Center, Martino’s Pizza, Paul’s Coffee and Tea, Redstone Meadery, and WOW! Children’s Museum. Thanks also to the numerous volunteers from Kohl’s, local schools, student families, and board members who ran carnival games and activities. Special thanks to our Community Partners: Lafayette Public Library, Rocky Mountain Music Repair, Sol Vista Violins, and WOW! Children’s Museum, who promoted Performathon and also provided free kids activities during the event. And we especially thank all the students and faculty members for sharing their talents and making Performathon such a special day.

Similar to a walk-a-thon, students raised pledges for their performance. All funds raised at Performathon, through pledges and the carnival activities, support music education. We raised $5,618 this year. The top three pledge fundraisers were awarded gift cards to Flatiron Crossing. Congratulations to: Emma Hecht (1st place), Caetlin Flaherty (2nd place), and Ignacia Naus (3rd place).

Thanks again to everyone involved, and we hope to see you again next year!
