Biography
Born from artistic parents in Boulder County, Tryggvi has been involved with music since he was young. He began playing instrumental music on the clarinet in elementary school, but found himself inextricably drawn to the magic of percussion. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in percussion performance at the University of Colorado Boulder. At CU, He has played in the Percussion Ensemble, the Wind Symphony, the Batteria Ensemble, and the Golden Buffalo Marching Band. He has also spent two years performing with the Blue Knights percussion ensemble and drum corps. If you or your child is curious about drumlines, Tryggvi has a plethora of experience!
Tryggvi wants his lessons to provide a space for people to explore and fall in love with the act of music creation. He believes that no matter your experience level or ability level, one should be able to participate in the joy of music. He wants to help give his students the tools that they can use to grow their musical endeavors, whatever those may be. If you are considering playing drums for a personal hobby, or to play with a local band, or maybe even play in a stadium with a thousand people, Tryggvi wants to help you get there.
